OUTSTANDING CODENI CHILDREN WITH THE CHIVAS,
THANKS TO VECTRA
Thirteen boys and girls who had an outstanding performance in CODENI were awarded by attending the last game of Chivas vs. Monterrey in the Jalisco Stadium. This was possible thanks to the help of Vectra, a Canadian group of Entrepreneurs Organization that visited CODENI during the month of May as part of their initial collaboration with CODENI.
The representatives from Vectra also joined us in soccer practice, the monthly family event in Parque Agua Azul, in the education site at Plaza Universidad, and to meet some CODENI’s families in their homes on the Cerro del Cuatro. Thank you, Vectra, for your help in our fight against poverty in Guadalajara.
PARENTS UNITED AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
We recently held the second of four workshops for parents aimed at preventing Domestic Violence. A group of psychologists from the program ‘Awareness of Domestic Violence’ at DIF Jalisco facilitated the first two workshops in this series. During these reunions the causes and negative effects of violence were revised in the context of the family. The group of parents that assisted participated actively and shared their experiences, doubts and points of view. These workshops are made possible thanks to the support of INDESOL, Corporativa de Fundaciones, Fundacion Expo Guadalajara and Fundacion Arancia.
YOUTH WITH RHYTHM
In June a group of CODENI teens started African drum classes. The group meets three times per week during the afternoons. With the support of renowned local musician, Juan José López Ortíz, the participants use the drums to communicate and explore their creativity. We look forward to their first public presentation soon.
